Privacy Policy

Purpose: Our goal is to protect your information in all the ways that we interact with our customers — in the branches, at ATM’s, over the Internet or on the phone. Personal information includes all information that identifies individuals when either opening accounts, applying for loans or using any electronic forms of communication with Union State Bank.

Union State Bank has adopted the following principles:

  1. Recognition of a Customer’s Expectation of Privacy

  2. Union State Bank recognizes and respects the privacy expectation of our customers. We will take the steps necessary to protect the privacy of all the information shared by our customers to Union State Bank.

     

  3. Use, Collection and Retention of Customer Information

  4. Union State Bank collects, retains and uses information about individuals when such information is required by law or when Union State Bank reasonably believes it would useful in administrating our business and to provide products, services and other opportunities to existing customers.

     

  5. Maintenance of Accurate Information

  6. Union State Bank has established procedures so that a customer's financial information is accurate, current and complete in accordance with reasonable commercial standards. Union State Bank also responds to requests to correct inaccurate information in a timely manner.

     

  7. Limiting Employee Access to Information

  8. Union State Bank limits employee access to personally identifiable information to those with a business reason for knowing such information. Union State Bank educates its employees so that they will understand the importance of confidentiality and customer privacy. Union State Bank also takes appropriate disciplinary measures to enforce employee privacy responsibilities.

     

  9. Protection of Information via Established Security Procedures

  10. Union State Bank maintains appropriate security standards and procedures regarding unauthorized access to customer information.

     

  11. Restrictions on the Disclosure of Account Information

Union State Bank does not reveal specific information about our customer accounts or their transactions to unaffiliated third parties for their independent use, unless the information is provided to 1) help complete a customer-initiated transaction, 2) to help administer the institution’s bona fide business, 3) at the customer’s request, 4) to comply with a legal requirement (i.e., regulation or subpoena) 5) to a reputable information reporting agency (i.e., credit bureau) or 6) after the customer has been informed about the possibility of such disclosure through a prior communication and given the opportunity to decline (i.e. "opt out".)

Union State Bank does share nonpublic personal information with our affiliate the Novak Agency, Inc. for the purposes of solicitation of new business.  You do have the opportunity and right to opt out of this sharing.

  1. Maintaining Customer Privacy in Business Relationships with Third Parties

  2. If personally identifiable customer information is provided to a third party, Union State Bank insists that the third party adhere to similar and strict privacy principles that provide for keeping such information confidential.

     

  3. Disclosure of "Privacy Principles" to Customers

  4. Union State Bank will make these "Privacy Principles" available to our customers to give them a better understanding of our commitment to safeguarding confidential and private information.

     

  5. Special Information Applicable to Electronic (Internet) Banking

Union State Bank collects generic information about visitors to our website. This information includes the date and time of access, the Internet service provider’s address, the web browser used, and the visitor’s physical location.
  • Union State Bank collects specific information about visitors if you choose to contact the Bank over the Internet. Please keep in mind that your e-mail address, any other information that your e-mail header shows about you, such as your name, or any further information that you submit, will be revealed to us in the e-mail. Union State Bank, however, will use your e-mail information only for the specific purpose of responding to your comments, questions, or directions.
  • Union State Bank requires customers to utilize specific passwords for access to confidential and private information. Union State Bank reminds customers of the their responsibility to safeguard Login IDs and passwords. In addition, commercial customers should carefully screen those employees to whom Login IDs and passwords are granted.
  • Union State Bank utilizes encryption, firewall, router, third party verification procedures and other security software and hardware to help prevent unauthorized eavesdropping of and access to customers’ confidential and private information.
  • Union State Bank utilizes virus protection software to help prevent the spread of computer viruses.
  • Union State Bank utilizes "cookies" to help authenticate our customers’ identities and to help facilitate the exchange of information between Union State Bank systems and our customers’ systems.

Union State Bank reminds all of our customers that links in the institution's websites can be found to websites not under our control. These websites will not necessarily comply with Union State Bank’s "Privacy Principles" and security standards.

Union State Bank reminds all of our customers that confidential and private information may be compromised in both traditional and non-traditional bank activities. Union State Bank can only establish policies and procedures to help restrict use of and access to confidential and private information. If any Union State Bank customers believe that confidential and private information has been compromised, please contact Union State Bank immediately so that the potential breach can be investigated.
