Purpose:
Our goal is to protect your information in all the ways that we
interact with our customers — in the branches, at ATM’s, over the
Internet or on the phone. Personal information includes all
information that identifies individuals when either opening
accounts, applying for loans or using any electronic forms of
communication with Union State Bank.
Union State Bank has adopted the following principles: Recognition of a Customer’s Expectation of Privacy Union State Bank recognizes and respects the privacy expectation of our customers. We will take the steps necessary to protect the privacy of all the information shared by our customers to Union State Bank.
Use, Collection and Retention of Customer Information Union State Bank collects, retains and uses information about individuals when such information is required by law or when Union State Bank reasonably believes it would useful in administrating our business and to provide products, services and other opportunities to existing customers.
Maintenance of Accurate Information Union State Bank has established procedures so that a customer's financial information is accurate, current and complete in accordance with reasonable commercial standards. Union State Bank also responds to requests to correct inaccurate information in a timely manner.
Limiting Employee Access to Information Union State Bank limits employee access to personally identifiable information to those with a business reason for knowing such information. Union State Bank educates its employees so that they will understand the importance of confidentiality and customer privacy. Union State Bank also takes appropriate disciplinary measures to enforce employee privacy responsibilities.
Protection of Information via Established Security Procedures Union State Bank maintains appropriate security standards and procedures regarding unauthorized access to customer information.
Restrictions on the Disclosure of Account Information Union State Bank does not reveal specific information about our customer accounts or their transactions to unaffiliated third parties for their independent use, unless the information is provided to 1) help complete a customer-initiated transaction, 2) to help administer the institution’s bona fide business, 3) at the customer’s request, 4) to comply with a legal requirement (i.e., regulation or subpoena) 5) to a reputable information reporting agency (i.e., credit bureau) or 6) after the customer has been informed about the possibility of such disclosure through a prior communication and given the opportunity to decline (i.e. "opt out".)
If personally identifiable customer information is provided to a third party, Union State Bank insists that the third party adhere to similar and strict privacy principles that provide for keeping such information confidential.
Union State Bank will make these "Privacy Principles" available to our customers to give them a better understanding of our commitment to safeguarding confidential and private information.
Union State Bank reminds all of our customers that links in the institution's websites can be found to websites not under our control. These websites will not necessarily comply with Union State Bank’s "Privacy Principles" and security standards. Union State Bank reminds all of our customers that confidential and private information may be compromised in both traditional and non-traditional bank activities. Union State Bank can only establish policies and procedures to help restrict use of and access to confidential and private information. If any Union State Bank customers believe that confidential and private information has been compromised, please contact Union State Bank immediately so that the potential breach can be investigated.
